CYBHER 2013....TOO GOOD TO MISS

cyber 2013

On the 1st June 2013 the lovely Tif & I  will be making our way to the big smoke in our best granny attire to stand up in front of a room of lovely listeners to inspire them with tale of two friends separated by a rather large pond, who wrote a book, supported each other through fallen knees socks episodes & came out the other side just a little bit more crackers than they were before...

Alongside us telling their amazing tales as well will be the lovely Natasha & peachy Caroline...

There are also lots of other interesting talks & workshops throughout the day so don't dilly dally, book your tickets now here

VIOLET & HER PONCHO...

With all the drifting snow & cold winds over the last few days a certain young lady has voiced a great concern that she may indeed freeze to death and that her whole body is hurting....along with the trauma that her heart may fall out. I have no idea where she gets these notions other than being fed a load of old tripe by her big brothers. I do suspect that she will be full of cold before the day is out.

So I was set to the task of whipping her up something warm and cosy....my track record with knitting garments isn't good so we could be heading into next winter before a cardi was even half done. Lets face it I struggle with a scarf.

Pondering this dilemma and sipping an essential cup of tea, staring into space waiting for some-sort of crafty inspiration my tea cosy caught my eye...a-ha i thought use that pattern to fashion a poncho of sorts.

A bit of rearranging of stitches, along with a treble or two, a young lady is most proud to be donning a super warm poncho with statuary pom poms, that under no circumstances were they to be any other colour than pink *rummages in wool stash and pulls forth a ball of dusty pink....sighs in relief*

Now my head is filled with grown up size ponchos and I may have finally found a use for those skeins of collinette that have been languishing in the bottom of the cupboard for an absolute age...

SHALL I OR SHAN'T I

I just can't make a decision which is rather unusual for me because usually there is no dilly dallying about, I wake up, something catches my eye as I stumble down the stairs and away I go forsaking anything else that needs to be done (what about your book of to do's the voice in my head is whispering). Well let's move on it's only been a few days of lists....

So back to the matter at hand, I can't decide what to do with my "most loveliest wallpaper I have ever owned" I have pondered various locations around the place but nothing seems to fit so I roll it back up and pop it to one side.

I keep coming back to the sides of the fireplace where my lovely tartan paper once lived but still I am not convinced...Should I leave it freshly painted lovely off white colour or should i whip out my past brush and get going...

So I pose this question to you my dear readers....where would you paste this lovely stuff if at all....xox

ps thank you all so much for your comments on my book of lists posts....I am so glad I am not the only one who starts out with such good intentions only to have given up the ghost a few days in....:)

A BOOK OF TO DO'S

As we launch into 2013 and pondering what exciting time this year will bring (as 2012 will be pretty hard to beat) I have been thinking of ways of keeping myself on track as a go about my day to day this & that.

For those who know me well, well those that have to deal with me every day will know how I am rather good at getting side tracked away from the matter at hand. Usually those small insignificant jobs that have to be done on a daily basis but necessary to stop your world falling into a chaotic black hole....I am sure my lovely readers that there are a fair few of you guilty of those crimes.

So I have purchased myself an actual write in page to a whole day diary and a very plain and dull brown notebook. It is dull and plain because otherwise I won't write in it but will just look at it lovingly and move it from shelf to pile and back again....in the chaos.

Every morning or maybe evening I am not sure exactly when I shall write a to do list 3 essential tasks that have to be done and 3 things I should like to do... to try indeed to keep me on track.

I know that I will never be super organised and that the unconventional way I go about things will generally mean that things are ship shape and proper maybe once a month, for an hour or two, long enough to take a quick snap and post it somewhere or other on the internet to lure you into the false sense that I live in a perfectly tidy and quite lovely home....I also like to kid myself that I live in a lovely organised, tidy and clean home.

My book of to do's is really about me getting more things done in the time I have without completely trashing everything...I have high hopes but is also something that I would like to look back on and ponder the things I achieved throughout the year as often things get lost under the piles. So this means writing the lists in my very best hand writing rather than the untidy scrawl that matches the pile of wet towels in the bathroom.

So there you have it....just wondering how long I will keep it up before it becomes boring & tiresome and falls into an abyss...
