On looking up the definition of the word 'craft' there were various wordy definitions but this one was my firm favourite, a concise list that says it like it is.

1. an art, trade, or occupation requiring special skill, esp. manual skill.
2. skill; dexterity.
3. cunning; deceit.
4. the membership of a guild.

6. a number of ships or other vessels taken as a whole.

8. aircraft collectively
There is me waffling on about how little I had done blah blah when in fact if you apply the term to all things practical then actually we have achieved lots this summer.
My favourite project which combined buckets of cunning, a fair bit of winging it and maybe a sprinkle of skill was to 'craft' our new Pig Manor from our old greenhouse.
I had been looking for ages at Pig Arks and various housing solutions but all of them way over my budget. They need to be evicted from the polytunnel pretty sharpish before the weather turns everything to mud city.
Where was I to find a snug house that could keep them warm and dry for most of the winter so that they only have to go into the barn in the worst conditions and ideally stay out all year round.
So I 'cunningly" plotted and planned and wandered about pondering stuff and decided that with a bit of tinkering and wielding a saw I could in fact transform the old greenhouse frame.
I am rather proud of my creation and Mr Craft has indeed been with us all dear readers for unless you have been glued to the sofa for the entire summer each cake you baked, lawn you mowed, dishcloth knitted and each perfectly brewed cup of tea you have made does indeed have a little bit of 'craft' at its heart and feeds our crafty souls each and everyday.
So go forth one and all and 'craft' your hearts out x
